Part of the charm of the Shipping Forecast is the measured, repeated recitation (always in the same order) of the sea areas. The comforting sound is useful even for non-sailors – we can think “gales in Wight and Portland? Ah…” – and with this attractive hand-lettered design we can picture exactly where that threatening storm might be.
